Benoît Lemal holds a law degree from UCL (magna cum laude, 1993) and an LLM in European law from the University of Leyden (1994).
He is a member of the Brussels Bar since 1995 and joined the law firm Sybarius in 2014 as a partner.
His practice focuses mainly on criminal law and the law of criminal procedure: assisting defendants and civil parties at all stages of the proceedings (hearing, indictment, Chambers of instruction Court of appeal, Assize Court).
Registered on the list of mandatories to represent companies before criminal courts, he regularly intervenes in white-collar crime proceedings.
Benoît also has extensive expertise in banking law (denunciation of loans, recovery proceedings, execution seizures, release of funds seized following an embargo, etc.), advising several leading banking institutions.
Benoît is also very much invested in the Brussels Bar, having been President of the Conférence du Jeune Barreau, a member of the Bar Council and a lecturer at the Bar Training School.
